About the Standards Desk

Bitrate Analytics is an independent editorial property that publishes engineering-analytical material about digital video compression. It exists for readers who want to understand why a configuration behaves the way it does, not merely which buttons to press.

What we publish

Our output falls into three categories: explanatory articles on codec architecture, structured reference tables of planning anchors, and objective comparisons of interface characteristics. We do not publish tutorials that lead to obtaining any application package, and we host no files other than the pages you are reading and the images that illustrate them.

Editorial method

Every technical claim is written from mechanisms that can be explained from first principles. Where we publish a numeric anchor, we state the conditions under which it was derived and we encourage readers to re-measure on their own material. Where an area is contested, we say so rather than presenting a single figure with false confidence.

Independence

We accept no sponsorship from any project, vendor or platform named in our material. Names appear in comparisons only as neutral references. This desk has no commercial relationship with any of the interfaces discussed.
